For developers, devops, and SREs

Test internal APIs without building SSH tunnels.

Route any HTTP request through a saved SSH connection — bastion, jump host, lab gateway, customer VPN. No ssh -L, no kubectl port-forward, no Postman environments that die when your laptop sleeps. The tunnel lives on the request, not in a terminal you forgot about.

  • Old-way (ssh -L + curl --resolve) vs new-way side-by-side
  • Postman + tunnel comparison table
  • Seven-question pre-install FAQ

For MSPs and IT consultancies

One workspace per client. Bulletproof isolation between them.

The day a tech pastes Globex's vault password into Acme's terminal is the day a contract ends. Spaces scope credentials, runbooks, audit log, and AI context per client — with a per-Space AWS KMS key you can destroy on offboarding for cryptographic erasure.

  • Per-Space KMS architecture, explained honestly
  • IT Glue / Hudu / ConnectWise migration paths
  • Pricing math for a five-tech MSP

For SREs, devops, and on-call

Runbooks that live next to the systems they describe.

Markdown runbooks in the same Space as the SSH connections, HTTP requests, and DB queries they reference. Magellan drafts them from real session output. Every edit lands in audit. No more Confluence pages that drift six months out of date from the system they document.

  • Split-pane runbook + terminal walkthrough
  • Confluence and markdown import paths
  • Version history on Team and Enterprise

For network engineers and NOC operators

40+ diagnostic tools. One window. An AI that reads the output.

Wireshark in one window. Termius in another. The browser tab pointed at the switch's web UI. PuTTY (still) for the firewall console. Replace the tab graveyard with one workspace where ping, MTR, packet capture, SNMP, syslog, and SSH all share context — and Magellan reads the output.

  • libpcap capture on macOS, Windows, and Linux
  • SNMP v1/v2c/v3 with structured MIB rendering
  • Bulk Command across folders of switches (Team)

For SolarWinds ETS shops at renewal time

$24/mo per tech. Mac, Windows, Linux. Magellan included.

SolarWinds ETS is $1,995/yr/tech, Windows-only, and the UI hasn't been modernized in a decade. ShellYard Pro is $288/yr/tech, runs on every desktop your team owns, and ships an AI assistant. Honest about what doesn't port (WAN Killer, Wake-on-LAN, a few SNMP curiosities).

  • Row-by-row ETS-to-ShellYard tool mapping
  • Ten-tech renewal math ($14k-$17k/yr saved)
  • CSV import path for your existing device list

What every use case shares

One desktop app. Same shape underneath, every workflow.

  • Free covers the core. SSH, the HTTP / GraphQL / Realtime client, 40+ network diagnostic tools, VNC, and Magellan AI — all on the Free tier. No credit card. No trial countdown.
  • Cross-platform, signed, notarized. macOS (Apple Developer ID + notarization), Windows (Azure Trusted Signing), Linux (.deb / .rpm / AppImage). Same app, same Space data, every desktop.
  • Magellan is BYO-key. Bring an Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, or local Ollama / LM Studio key. Prompts go directly to the provider — never proxied through ShellYard infrastructure.
  • AWS KMS envelope encryption. Not zero-knowledge — the KMS keys live in our AWS account, not yours. We say it out loud. Team and Enterprise add per-Space customer-managed keys for cryptographic erasure on offboarding.
  • Pricing you can read off the homepage. Free $0 · Pro $24/mo · Team $49/mo · Enterprise $99/mo. Per seat, billed monthly or annually. No setup fee, no per-Space charge, no "talk to sales" gate on Pro or Team.

What ShellYard isn't

We know our scope. Here's where it ends.

Not a 24/7 monitoring platform.

No agents, no historical metrics retention, no alert routing. If you need NPM, Datadog, or Zabbix scope — keep them. ShellYard is the engineer-side toolkit you reach for when something is already broken or you're building it.

Not a PAM platform.

No session approval workflows, no session recording for compliance, no jit credential brokering. We do credentials-in-a-vault and per-Space RBAC. If you need CyberArk or BeyondTrust scope, keep them.

Not a mobile app.

Desktop only — macOS, Windows, Linux. No iOS, no Android. Infrastructure work is desk work; we built for the screen real estate the work actually needs.

Download. Try it on the workflow that bugs you the most.

Install, open the one connection or request you were going to wrestle with today, and see if ShellYard ships it better than what you were going to reach for. If it doesn't, uninstall — no account required to try it.
